I've updated to Windows 8.1 and then to the Windows 8.1 Update with no effect on games. I installed Windows 8 Pro in my good old system that I built in 2009, so it is running on 4 year old hardware. What I care about is if it works for me and if I can continue my self-admitted gaming addiction in the new operating system. I will leave all the arguments about whether it’s good or bad or something in between to those who know far more than I do.

I had to let it auto install a couple more small pieces, but the game RAN!
deb file, installed it and launched the game. Critical failure before anything happened. Steam's inhouse version of Wine failed so I installed Wine from the system software installation system. I bought realMyst Masterpiece edition from Steam, hoping to play this iconic game on my Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS system.
